H.M.S. Beagle Science Clubs
Science Club for School-Aged Children
Each month, H.M.S. Beagle brings innovative and entertaining programmes to your children in our store. The H.M.S. Beagle Science Club is the ideal place for your child on a Saturday morning. In sessions tailored to the different school-aged audiences, resident specialists and local science professionals bring the sciences to life and answer questions from children and parents alike.
For the low price of $20 per year, your child will receive a membership certificate, and you will receive email updates and an in-store discount when you visit. Meetings usually fall on the dates listed below, every month of the year except for December:
- Second Saturday - Kindergarten through Third Grade
- Third Saturday - Kindergarten through Third Grade
- Fourth Saturday - Fourth through Eighth Grades
Previous program topics have included: birds, chemistry, weather, primates, reptiles, rockets, paleontologists, and many others. Some perennial favorites may be repeated, while new material is added and new presentations are made throughout the year. We are always looking for new presenters, so if you know a scientist or someone who works in a science-related field who you feel could make a sound presentation to school-aged children, let us know!
